Churchyard and Funerals

Please contact the Vicar to arrange a funeral service in the church or any burials or internments in the churchyard. He will guide you through all the details involved for planning these events.

Streaming – we have a newly installed system that can stream services ‘live’ via a YouTube link. We can offer this service for funerals and weddings from one of the cameras at the back of the church giving a fixed view of the church, chancel steps, pulpit and Lectern.

Our churchyard is ‘open’ so burials can be arranged if required. It also encompasses a Garden of Remembrance for interment of ashes and placing of memorial plaques on the wall.

There are, however, specific rules and guidelines that refer to the placing of these and other tributes and personal items which may be liable for removal if they do not comply.

Your floral tributes to your loved ones in the form of fresh flowers are very welcome here.

The aim is to maintain the area as a haven, which in appearance and atmosphere ensures that all can find space for peaceful reflection and dignified remembrance of their loved ones.

An abridged form of these guidelines can be seen on the South Porch and Lychgate notice boards, but if you would like to see them in full, please view the ‘Churchyard Handbook Guide for Families’.
